 Planting Seeds for Growing Communicators

About Me

Laura Bushong, MS, CCC-SLP

Laura Bushong is a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a specialized focus on supporting children with executive function challenges and motor speech disorders, including Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). In addition to her clinical training in speech-language pathology, Laura integrates principles of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) therapy to support the mind-body connection in communication and behavior.

By combining evidence-based speech therapy with NLP strategies, she addresses both the neurological patterns of speech production and the cognitive frameworks that influence how individuals process language, emotion, and thought. This unique, integrative approach empowers both children and adults to improve self-awareness, strengthen language skills, and build confidence in their ability to communicate.

Laura's therapy style is grounded in personalized care, meeting each client where they are with compassion, curiosity, and respect. Through creative, goal-oriented interventions, she helps individuals not only find their voice—but trust their voice, too.

"We had the pleasure of hosting Laura for a professional development in-service focused on the evaluation and treatment of Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Her presentation was both informative and engaging, and it was clear that she brings a wealth of experience and deep knowledge to this complex area of practice.

She broke down the latest research and best practices in a way that was easy to understand and immediately applicable. The hands-on strategies and real-life examples helped our team feel more confident in identifying and treating CAS. She also provided helpful resources.

Our entire team walked away feeling empowered and better equipped to serve children with CAS. I would highly recommend her to any clinic or school looking to deepen their understanding of motor speech disorders."
